Abstract

Shanghai Cooperation Organization has a different facet in comparison with other regional organizations namely the European Union and ASEAN. SCO members do not share much similarity with each other. From one direction, China the world's most populous country and Russia the world's most expansive country and from another direction small countries are members that possess only a few million populations; equally, the members have fundamental dissimilarities because of their national prowess, political and social orders, religions and cultures as well as levels of economic development. The organization that has taken shape in the atmosphere following the Cold War embraces security and economic cooperation.
