Abstract

The Islamist party of Justice and Development has gained victory in Parliamentarian election and succeeded to obtain enough votes to appoint Abdollah Gul as president. Given the intolerant mentality of the military in Turkey and the unpleasant fate of previous governments which did not conform to kemalist principles, the successive successes of Justice and Development party show its efficiency in managing the current situation. This article discusses the reasons for the victory of the Justice and Development party and relations between Iran and Turkey.
